- The Department
The Operations Department plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of events and the management of matchday operations across all of our sites, as a Club, we are going through an exciting phase of growth, and we need to ensure that every project and event we deliver meets our high standards of excellence. The role of Operations Project and Events Manager is vital to supporting the Head of Special Events in delivering smooth and efficient operations across these areas.
- The Role
We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Operations Project and Events Manager to join our team, based across both Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. A core part of the role also involves supporting matchday operations. You will be on the ground during home matchdays, working closely with the Operational Delivery Team to ensure smooth execution. This will include overseeing event setups, coordinating event staff, troubleshooting any operational issues that arise, and ensuring everything runs according to plan
The postholder will be responsible for providing administrative support and project management for Club events. This includes a wide range of tasks, (but not limited to) overseeing key projects, assisting with event operations, and ensuring that high-profile events are successfully delivered across multiple departments. You will also be responsible for arranging meetings, managing travel arrangements, and liaising with third-party partners and suppliers as requested by the Head of Special Events.
You will also support event operations in the Warehouse, assisting with event setup, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with health and safety and other regulatory standards for successful event delivery. During events, you will provide on-the-ground support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure everything runs smoothly, working with event staff and ensuring the event adheres to all planning and safety protocols

- The Person
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in project and event management, preferably within an arena or stadium environment. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders
You will need to be adaptable and resilient, thriving in fast-paced environments and always maintaining confidentiality at all times. You must have strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Additionally, you should have the ability to handle difficult situations, manage challenging queries, and solve problems in a professional manner.
As the role requires flexibility, you must be available to work evenings and weekends, particularly for matchdays and events. You must also hold a full, UK driving license and have access to a vehicle to travel between our club sites; Villa Park, London Office and Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.
